Before purchasing a laptop computer, one should take into account how it will be used. If you travel and plan on using your laptop away from home, consider the weight and how big a machine you need before making the purchase.  Buying refurbished is a great idea if you are putting wear and tear on your laptop from traveling with it.

Considering the price of purchasing refurbished instead of new, our vote is for not purchasing insurance. Most models will come with some type of manufacturers or suppliers warranty, and factoring in the cost savings of not buying new, passing on the insurance makes sense.

Most people are not completely sure of the difference between a refurbished laptop and a new one. Is most cases, refurbished means that a new laptop got sent back with something wrong that was noted , such as a scratch, damaged during transit, or a faulty or missing part. When one of these new computers is returned to the store, the problem gets fixed but now is displayed or sold as refurbished since it can no longer be called new.Usually, they would still come with a warranty and support that a new laptop would , but be sure to verify before the purchase.
